No dia 25 de janeiro de 2019, a Barragem do Córrego do Feijão, da mineradora Vale, se rompeu criando uma avalanche de 12,7 milhões de metros cúbicos de lama e rejeito de mineiro de ferro. Em instante, a lama matou mais de duzentas pessoas, exterminou animais, destruiu casas, arrastou máquinas, veículos, e deixou a cidade de Brumadinho em estado de calamidade, da qual decorre até os dias atuais.
