Underrated and in the Shadows with Ethan Thompson | Roots Before the Fruits

This man wore the Oregon State colors proudly. More importantly, he represents the Thompson name in great fashion on and off the court. The game of basketball has done so much, and it's what brought this episode to life with Ethan Thompson.

People believe basketball comes easy when your father is a basketball legend. Now you no longer have to wonder about the pros and cons of having your father as your college coach. People finally get to hear how Ethan has handled the "coach's son" title and being underrated his whole life.

Los Angeles is difficult to get noticed for basketball solely based on talent. Now let's stack the deck with your father's legacy on top of that. Then we add an older brother who you fall second to by default because you play alongside him. When you have blessings like these, people hold them against you in a negative way.

Ethan has used all the blessings and the overlooking as motivation. He has put together a well-respected basketball resume. He carried the Oregon State Beavers to win the PAC 12 Championship and the Elite 8 run in the NCAA Tournament. From a professional standpoint, he plays in the NBA G League for the Bulls. Ethan recognizes people haven't done their research. People can continue to discount his talents because he has the game to quiet the noise as he remains focused on the NBA.
