From the women led parlours of France to the Suffragette and #MeToo movement, feminism has established itself as a structural development advocating for equality of all genders. The focus on uplifting women has been often misconstrued by various factions with critics arguing that the rise of pseudo-feminism is detrimental to all efforts that demand equality. How has pseudo-feminism warped our understanding of feminism? Is modern feminism truly intersectional? What are some disparities between women’s rights movements in the developing vs the developed world? Supporters of the movement have applauded the efforts of nation-states to prioritise the efforts of bettering the affairs of one's own country while critics argue that the concept alienates minority communities that lie outside the definition set by the nationalists.
