Sermon June 30 2024 - "What God Has Done for You"

On the eastern shore of the Sea of Galilee is one of the nation of Israel’s National Parks, Kursi National Park. This is the area where Jesus may have performed the miracle in today’s Gospel lesson (Mark 5:1-20), when He commanded a legion of demons to leave a man they had been tormenting. The demons immediately infested a herd of pigs, who hurled themselves off a nearby cliff and were washed into the waters of Galilee.

This summer most of the Gospel lessons are in the Gospel according to Saint Mark. These readings talk about Jesus’ teachings, His miracles, and His action-packed ministry. But each of the readings also has a “takeaway” from Jesus Himself! We’ll focus on these “red-letter” verses this summer. Here’s the this week’s: “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you.” (Mark 5:19)

You can view, download, or print the text of this service by clicking the link below or by copying and pasting it into your browser: https://bit.ly/240630Pentecost6

You can find and download this sermon as an episode of the Route 42 podcast at https://route42.buzzsprout.com/ or on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Pandora, iHeart Radio, and more.

You can find archived episodes of the Route 42 Playlist on the Christ the King Lutheran Church YouTube channel HERE>>:

You can follow Christ the King Lutheran Church on Facebook @ctkodi; you can subscribe to Christ the King's YouTube channel HERE; and you can reach Pastor Cahill by email through the Christ the King website at www.christthekinglodi.org. Sermon JUne 9 2024 "Who's in YOUR Family?"

This summer most of the Gospel lessons are in the Gospel according to Saint Mark. These readings talk about Jesus’ teachings, His miracles, and His action-packed ministry. But each of the readings also has a comment by Jesus that explains the most important point of the event. We’ll focus on these “red-letter” verses this summer. Sermon April 14, 2024 - "Eclipse? What Eclipse?"

On April 8 millions of people witnessed a total solar eclipse over the United States. An historical event, to be sure, but probably “life-changing” for only a few of those witnesses. But when Jesus rose from the dead, that was not only historical but “life-changing” for His disciples who saw Him in the flesh many times before He returned to heaven. And, their testimony has been life-changing for millions of others through the ages, who never had the opportunity to see Him in person. In this sermon, as in many, we’ll think about how.

You can view, download, or print the text of this service by clicking the link below or by copying and pasting it into your browser:https://bit.ly/240414Easter3

#CTKLodiOhio #Easter #solareclipse
