RSTV The Big Picture : Innovation & Global Challenges

Addressing the 66th Convocation of IIT Kharagpur through a video conference Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged students to work towards creating startups and innovating things that can change the lives of crores of people in the country. The Prime Minister asked the students to adopt the mantra of Self 3 -Self-awareness, Self-confidence and Selflessness to overcome self-doubt and obstacles. We are witnessing a new ecosystem in startup, innovation and research areas. We have to work today to get results in the next 10 years. There is no scope for hurry in the field of technology. RSTV The Big Picture : Regulating Social Media Influencers

Digital media influencers, Youtubers and celebrities promoting their favorite brands might have to be a bit more cautious going forward as a new draft regulation by the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) stipulates that all influencers will have to declare if a product or a service is being covered as part of a promotion. The guidelines say that advertising labels should be clearly visible for video content on all platforms, including mobile phones. For audio content, the disclosure will have to be announced before and after the content. In case of social platforms like Instagram, the guidelines suggest that the disclosure label be superimposed on the image. The content cannot be digitally manipulated to show the product in better light. Influencers will also need to verify whether the claims being made in the advertisement are valid and can be substantiated. The guidelines are similar to the Federal Trade commission guidelines in the United States. The draft proposal is up for public debate till March 8 and is expected to be rolled out by April 15. In this edition of The Big Picture we will analyse the draft regulations for social media influencers.
Guest Name:- 1- Subhash Kamath, CEO, Advertising Standards Council of India
2- Khushbu Jain, Advocate, Cyber Laws
3- Arijit Ray, CEO & Founder, The Unlock Company
Anchor:- Frank Rausan Pereira
Producer:- Sagheer Ahmad

RSTV The Big Picture : Monetise & Modernise - Mantra For PSEs

Hello and welcome to Rajya Sabha Tv… You’re watching the Big Picture with me, Frank Rausan Pereira. Reiterating the government's commitment towards privatisation of PSUs and asset monetisation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that the motto of his government is to "monetise and modernise". Addressing a webinar on the Budget announcements for the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), the Prime Minister asked the private sector to come in support of the government's initiatives proposed in the Budget and help it prepare the roadmap for accelerated growth. Emphasising on the role of the private sector, he said that the Budget also focused on the strong partnership between the private players and the Centre. The funds mobilised through asset monetisation and disinvestment will be used for public welfare measures, he said. He added the Budget has targeted monetising 100 government assets, which would create investment opportunities worth Rs 2.5 lakh crore. In this edition of the Big Picture we will analyse the way ahead for PSEs.
