<p><b>San Diego to SLC & The Birth of B3k | Robbie Gallo & John Avery (B3k, RGP, & Vokab Kompany) #004<br/><br/></b>On this episode of Run of Show, we sit down with San Diego-based musicians Robbie Gallo & John Avery of B3k.<br/><br/>Coming up in California’s independent music scene, Robbie is an M.C., poet, and wordsmith most known for his role as co-founder of the San Diego-based live hip-hop act Vokab Kompany. More recently, Robbie has been releasing music under the name B3k alongside co-producer, friend, and accomplished saxophonist John Avery.<br/><br/>We cover a lot of ground quickly in our conversation, discussing both artist’s musical backgrounds and current projects – including B3k, Breakfast Jack, Red Giant Project, and Steel Pulse. Robbie opens up and shares about the interpersonal dynamics that led to Vokab Kompany’s hiatus – along with the creation of B3k and Red Giant Project – while taking accountability for his part in those events along with lessons learned.
