Interview with Homicide Detective Kyle Hoover on the unsolved murder of Jim Hiner
<p><a target="_blank" href="https://www.buzzsprout.com/twilio/text_messages/2263705/open_sms">Send us a Text Message.</a></p><p>Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Homicide Investigator sat down with Running Toward Evil Podcast for an interview and information-sharing session about the unsolved murder in Indianapolis, Indiana, of Jim Russell Hiner in August 2023. IMPD is trying different approaches to solve murders in Indianapolis using various methods such as AI and Podcasts. Hiner was found Around 2 p.m. on Aug. 25; officers responded to the <a href='https://goo.gl/maps/Kd9HPQiH3vPtLHoXA'>2900 block of Indianapolis Avenue</a>, near West 29th Street, for a report of a body found next to an occupied house next to the garage. According to WTHR News, the coroner's report stated he died of a gunshot wound. IMPD is looking for citizen involvement to help the police solve this crime. Since this episode aired, her boyfriend and traveling companion, Christopher Laundrie, committed suicide after allegedly being protected by his parents and before Petito's body was found on Sept. 19, 2021, and Laundrie was found after his suicide on Sept. 21, 2021. This case and how the police handled the investigation when they first had contact with Petito and Laudrie during their travels.
