<p>Cada semana mas de dos mil enfermos de lepra acudían a la vieja casona, ubicada en la Avenida Ospina Pérez, - hoy la calle central del Comercio - a reclamar el subsidio, que como enfermos de lepra les otorgaba el estado.</p> <p>Cardona nos cuenta como se cumplia este proceso, un poco lento, pues en esa época solo se pagaba en monedas, único medio de pago y trueque existente en el municipio.</p>
