[…] It seems like that's harder than operating just from a fixed launch base. So what's the benefit of using offshore floating infrastructure decommissioned ships for space launches? Well, launching a rocket anywhere is challenging. And to be more specific, the cost to build a launch pad on land is roughly comparable to the cost of building one on sea. Now that said, you're absolutely right. Operating at sea is a punishing environment. I won't get into it for your listeners. They're familiar with the maintenance, weather, so on and so forth.
