<p><strong>It’s Wednesday 7th October 2020, I’m John Aspinall and this is the Seasiders Podcast daily Blackpool briefing.</strong></p> <p><strong>--</strong></p> <p><strong>Blackpool have signed Icelandic international Daníel Grétarsson</strong></p> <p><strong>from Norwegian side Aalesunds FK, on a two year deal with the option to extend for a further 12 months.</strong></p> <p><strong>The defender also brings international experience to Bloomfield Road, having been called up to the Iceland squad in September 2019 before winning his first cap for his country in January 2020 in a 1-0 victory over Canada.</strong></p> <p><strong>--</strong></p> <p><strong>The Seasiders have also signed another centre-half in Northern Ireland international, Daniel Ballard - who joined on-loan from Arsenal until January 2021.<br> <br> Ballard, 21, is a highly rated prospect within the Gunners Academy and has recently made his senior international debut for his country in September, playing in both Nations League matches against Romania and Norway.</strong></p> <p><strong>--</strong></p> <p><strong>Blackpool failed to earn a bonus point in the EFL Trophy group stages as they were defeated 4-3 penalties at Accrington Stanley after drawing the match 1-1 after 90 minutes.</strong></p> <p><strong>Keshi Anderson’s sublime strike put the Seasiders in control at the Wham Stadium, but Colby Bishop’s equaliser brought Accrington Stanley level in the second half.</strong></p> <p><strong>The hosts went on to win the penalty shootout 4-3 and earned a bonus point in Group G with one game remaining.</strong></p> <p><strong>--</strong></p> <p><strong>Watch and listen to all our Blackpool FC audio and video shows, by subscribing to the Seasiders Podcast.
