Geschrieben und produziert von einem unbeleckten Hörfunk-Volontär zu Beginn seines Volontariats beim SDR. Zuerst hatte der Neuling für die Kulturredaktion ein Originalton-Feature über Straßenmusiker in Stuttgart gemacht, das den Vorteil hatte, dass man keinen Sprecher brauchte, es also günstiger war. Als der Volontär dann - gefragt, was er sich denn nun als zweiten Beitrag vorstellen könne - antwortete: "Ein Feature über John Cranko!", antwortete der Redakteur erschrocken: "Sorry, aber das ist Hochkultur!" Daraufhin musste der Volontär im Bruchteil einer Sekunde improvisieren, was er dann auch tat... Das war's jetzt aber wirklich.
