<p>Pukul sebelas lewat lima. Seekor kupu-kupu menyelinap dan hinggap di radio milik ayahmu yang memutar lagu Roxette. Dia pikir radio itu adalah pohon yang berubah bentuk. Dulu, kata ibunya, orang kota gemar menculik kenari untuk dipaksa jadi kursi dan lemari. Yang dia tidak tahu, radio itu terbuat dari aluminium yang dilapisi finir menyerupai kayu. Manusia memang suka menipu apa pun, bahkan seekor kupu-kupu</p><p>Satu jam setelah matahari tenggelam, manusia mulai berhenti menciptakan kebisingan dan pembakaran udara. Kupu-kupu itu masih di sana. Hinggap di jendela kamarmu seperti seseorang yang datang dari sejumlah pertanyaan. Tak ada seorang pun yang menyadari keberadaannya. Sama seperti semua hal kecil lain yang mudah bersembunyi: hilang atau sulit ditemukan.</p><p>Kupu-kupu itu berpindah. Terbang rendah dari pikiranmu, lalu menyentuh pakaian tidurmu yang tidak pernah kaupakai dengan semestinya. Kau dan pakaian itu tidak pernah merasa saling pas soal: Siapa yang lebih dulu harus memejamkan mata? Serupa kecemasan dan karbon monoksida, perkara mana yang lebih dulu mampu menyesaki inti jantungmu?</p><p>Kau menyukai malam, dan malam menyukai kupu-kupu itu. Ketika lampu dipadamkan dan mimpi dinyalakan, manusia menjadi bayi yang merangkak ke atas peraduan. Sementara negara terus merencanakan kejahatan. Kau lalu teringat dengan pertanyaan seseorang tentang keinginanmu untuk lahir sekali lagi. Sejak saat itu, usiamu diulang dari angka satu. Sehari setelah menjadi kupu-kupu.</p><p>Setelah malam itu, segala kenangan yang pernah terkumpul akan lepas ke langit dan tidur di tiang-tiang lampu. Tak ada lagi ruang berisik di dalam kepala atau dari arah luar jendela. Tak ada lagi wanita dengan lipstik blackberry di depan kaca. Pun seseorang yang sering memberimu pertanyaan. Kau tak lagi pernah pulang. Dan dia mungkin pergi ke tempat yang jauh — mencari jawaban lain seperti hantu penasaran.</p>
