Stop Doubting God: How to Find His Love in Your Life Again

Link to donate: https://www.osvhub.com/maryimmaculatechurch/giving/funds/parish-hall-renewal-our-hall-our-homeYou doubt Him. You wonder if He even hears you. And in the noise of your own head — the criticism, the fear, the "you're not good enough" — it can feel like God has gone silent. But He hasn't. He was never in the noise to begin with. Fr. Alfonse unpacks the story of Elijah on the mountain and Peter sinking in the waves to show you exactly where God has been waiting for you to listen — and how to hear Him again.✝️ Elijah expects God in the wind, the earthquake, the fire — and finds Him instead in a quiet whisper✝️ Peter is the only one of twelve who steps out of the boat — "little faith" was actually the most faith in the room✝️ The real storm isn't outside you — it's the voice in your head saying you're a failure, a loser, not enough✝️ A CVS pill bottle warning label becomes an unexpected picture of how God's love is nothing like the world's fine print✝️ Peter's three-word prayer — "Lord, save me" — gets an immediate answer, and yours will too🙏 PRAYER REFLECTION:Lord, quiet the noise I keep mistaking for Your silence. Help me stop searching for You in the storm and start listening for You in the whisper — in the small, steady ways You've already shown me You care. When I start to sink, remind me that three words are enough: Lord, save me.📖 SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:1 Kings 19:9-13 — Elijah encounters God in a whisper, not the wind, earthquake, or fireRomans 9:1-5 — Paul's anguish and enduring love for his peopleMatthew 14:22-33 — Peter walks on water and calls out to Jesus to save him🎯 THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE:The next time a critical voice rises up in your head — "you're not enough," "you failed," "who do you think you are" — stop and name it out loud as the storm, not God's voice. Then ask yourself: where has God actually been whispering to me this week? Write down one specific moment — a phone call, a hand held, a quiet answered prayer — and thank Him for it before Sunday.💬 Share your experience in the comments below. Filling the Hole in Your Heart: How to finally heal your loneliness

Father Alfonse turned 61 last week. At the dinner table someone asked him what six decades had taught him — and he fumbled the answer. Driving home that night, he finally knew. What happened in between involved a bad meal, a walk at 10 o'clock at night, and a stranger in a Lamborghini who backed up his car for a seventh grader he had never met. By the time Father Alfonse got home, Isaiah's question had answered itself: why do we keep spending our money on what does not satisfy?Every one of us was built with a hunger. You have a stomach, and food exists. You have a throat, and water exists. You have a heart that aches to be loved and to matter — and Father Alfonse's answer this Sunday is that the ache is not a defect. It is a map.✝️ Why the man who owned the Lamborghini got more joy from giving the ride away than from owning the car ✝️ The six-month rule: how long a purchase actually satisfies before the hole opens again ✝️ $300 at Six Flags, four kids, and the free fountain they never stopped talking about ✝️ Saint Paul's list of what could separate us from Christ — and Father's modern version: loneliness, illness, rejection, trials ✝️ What Father Alfonse finally answered at 61: "I am not God. I need God. And thank God, I have God." ✝️ The one line he came back to the ambo to say after the homily had already ended🙏 PRAYER REFLECTION:Lord, I have spent so much on things that never filled me. I have confused what I own with who I am, and I am tired. Teach me to bring my thirst to You instead of to the next thing I can buy, and let me learn what Father Alfonse learned at 61 — that I am not God, that I need You, and that You were never going to turn me away.📖 SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:Isaiah 55:1–3 — "All you who are thirsty, come to the water... Why spend your money for what is not bread?" Psalm 145:8–9, 15–18 — "The hand of the Lord feeds us; He answers all our needs." Romans 8:35, 37–39 — "What will separate us from the love of Christ?" Matthew 14:13–21 — The multiplication of the loaves: "They all ate and were satisfied."🎯 THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE: Two things, both free.First, do for one person what the driver did for that boy. Not a gift you buy — a moment you give. Let the car merge. Sit with the widow after Mass instead of leaving with everyone else. Call the grandchild who never calls you. Watch what it does to you, not to them.Second, before you fall asleep one night this week, answer the question Father Alfonse fumbled at his own birthday dinner: what have your years actually taught you? Write the answer down in one sentence. If you cannot fill it without naming something you own, that is the homily talking to you.💬 What have your years taught you? Share your one sentence in the comments below — we read every one, and we lift up your prayer intentions at Mass. 🙏👍 LIKE if this spoke to your heart 🔔 SUBSCRIBE for a new homily from Father Alfonse every Sunday 📤 SHARE this with someone who has everything and still feels empty📱 CONNECT WITH US: 🌐 Parish Website: https://www.maryimmaculatechurch.org/ 📘 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/maryimmaculatechurch 🖋️ Blog: https://fralfonse.blogspot.com/ 📚 Substack Newsletter: https://fatheralfonse.substack.com📺 WATCH NEXT: I Almost DIED Choking — What God Showed Me Will CHANGE Your Life → https://youtu.be/0pjAL44OHgk I Made A Deal With God... What Are You Selling Your Soul For?

What are you actually willing to sell? Your popularity, your politics, your relationships — Father Alfonse names the exact places we quietly trade away our faith for something that will never love us back.✝️ The Gospel's buried treasure (Matthew 13:44) isn't gold — it's fidelity to God, and Father Alfonse asks what price you've already put on yours✝️ King Solomon asked God for wisdom instead of riches — and still lost his kingdom, because wisdom alone doesn't protect a wandering heart✝️ Father Alfonse's own confession: a childhood memory of trading his identity for a girl's attention — the first "fake treasure" most of us ever chase✝️ His 85-year-old mother still prays for forgiveness for how she treated her own parents as a teenager — decades later, the guilt hasn't faded✝️ The three counterfeit treasures named by name: popularity, politics, and romance — and what it costs to sell your values for each one🙏 PRAYER REFLECTION:Lord, show me what I've quietly put up for sale — my time, my values, my peace — in exchange for approval that never satisfies. Help me hold onto the one treasure that was never meant to be traded: my fidelity to You. Amen.📖 SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:Matthew 13:44-46 — The Treasure Buried in a Field1 Kings 3:5-12 — Solomon's Dream and the Gift of WisdomRomans 8:28 — All Things Work for Good for Those Who Love God🎯 THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE:Name one thing — out loud, to yourself or to someone you trust — that you've been quietly trading your values for. Then write down one specific way you'll choose fidelity over approval the next time that trade comes up.💬 Share your experience in the comments below.
