SessionWell Episode #41: You are Enough - A Journey towards Self-Worth
<p>On this episode of the SessionWell Podcast, Adam Luke LMFT and Judy Yen LMFT interview Talia Bombola LMFT. Talia Bombola is known as the Confidence and Assertiveness Specialist™. She is the CEO, Owner and Founder of Newport Counseling Center for Individual, Couples and Family, Therapy Inc. and works as an LMFT + Certified Psychodynamic Therapist. She is also the CEO, Owner and Founder of Coaching with Talia, Inc. where she is a Life Coach/Mindset Mentor.</p> <p>Talia spends time on today's episode outlining not only her clinical perspective when it comes to self-worth but some of those cathartic and clinical interventions that she uses with clients to help maximize her clients potential for joy, relationships and connection. As Talia defines it, self-worth is the internal sense of being good enough and worthy of love and belonging from others. Human beings have inherent worth and oftentimes due to life events or interactions with others, we question that worth. Talia incorporates IFS/Parts Work + Attachment Theory into her Psychodynamic/Psychoanalytic practice to inspire others to realize they can change their lives and recreate narratives about themselves that are much more positive. Talia strives to serve as a reminder to keep your self-worth high and most everything else in life will fall into place accordingly.</p> <p>Talia also has a new membership site and eCourse that builds upon what is discussed in today's podcast. Her eCourse helps give language to self-development terms. Authenticity in the Room
<div dir="auto">Bold and passionate, Vanessa Cardin is as real as you can get. She is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, Co-Founder of Cozy, Director of Sponsorship for OC-CAMFT, and the Training Facilitator at Bloom Foundation. In all of these roles, showing up as your authentic self is necessary. On this podcast, she discusses the topic of how to navigate our own authenticity in the therapy space. What does it look like to be authentic with your clients? What is the difference between self disclosure and being authentic? As therapists, we are often encouraged to not self disclose, but this at times may hinder us from creating a genuine relationship with our clients. Some clients may want to feel like they are talking to someone “real” rather than just a “professional” because true human connection is what heals us. </div> <div dir="auto"> </div> <div dir="auto">Vanessa Cardin AMFT</div> <div dir="auto">In private practice, Co Founder of Cozy </div> <div dir="auto">Director of Sponsorship for OC-CAMFT and Contractor for Bloom Foundation </div> <div dir="auto"> </div> <div dir="auto">Music Credit: Energetic Upbeat by WinnieTheMoog Link: https://filmmusic.io/song/6033-energetic-upbeat License: https://filmmusic.io/standard-license</div>

Holding Space for Others while Managing Our Own Emotions as Therapists.
<p>Lilia Carey PsyD, LMFT is a director of a Sexual Abuse Treatment program in Orange County, CA. Dr. Carey wears many hats in the clinical world, whether it is being a professor, Director, or clinical psychologist. Dr. Carey sits down with Adam Luke and Judy Yen of SessionWell to tackle the discussion of creating a safe space for our Clients to process their emotions, feelings and experiences while also having grace for ourselves to be able to identify, process and repurpose challenges in our own lives. Dr. Carey brings to this discussion a level of genuineness and authenticity that is simply infectious when realizing that our greatest strengths as clinicians and individuals is found in a desire for us simply to be who we were created to be.</p>
