What Medical Students are Doing to Get Sexual Medicine Education
<p>Jennifer Romanello and Olivia Negris, senior medical students at Rush Medical School in Chicago, discussed a recent meeting and paper produced by the Medical Student Forum. This is a group of medical students from the Chicago area medical schools and beyond, who are interested in learning about sexual medicine. A Simulation of Taking a Sexual History.
<p>Today Dr Sara Yunghans will take us through a simulation of taking a sexual history with a standardized patient. This podcast is intended to be a follow up to podcast #38, “Best practices for taking a sexual history”. Dr Yunghans is a pelvic floor physical therapist who is a graduate of the Sexual Health Certificate Program through University of Michigan. She demonstrates that a sexual history can be done quickly during a patient interview.</p><p>We will be taking a short break to re-work Sex Ed for Sex Med. <p>We are talking to Anna Myers CNP about pelvic organ prolapse and personal lubricants. Anna is in a urologic pelvic medicine practice and is a certified sex counsellor and a part of the female sexual medicine team at University Hospitals in Cleveland. These 2 subjects are important topics as they effect so many women at the midlife.
