Well, Oliver Cowdery clearly is talking about the translation of the Book of Mormon. And according to this Shaker's journal, what he's writing in this journal is what Oliver Cowdery said. Now, obviously, there are some parts that are going to be missing pieces and not exactly accurate. Obviously the gold plates were not deposited on plates of brass, but on plates of gold.
