PikUp: Expressing Aroha through Treasuring and Sharing Kai
<p>Josh and Mokoia from Team PikUp join us on the podcast this week to talk about how this new rangatahi-led digital platform is helping to reduce our massive food waste crisis in Tairāwhiti, and is promoting a culture of generosity, sharing and community connection through sharing kai through the pataka kai network. A rather simple concept - homeowners with excess fruit connect with the PikUp crew who go along and harvest the fruit. They distribute 1/3 to the homeowners, 1/3 goes to the pickers and 1/3 goes to the pataka kai network for the community to eat.
