Mayumi is a single mum who works as masseur and also works for a Japanese food supplier. Emma says; “There have been two game changers for my professional career, having children and COVID-19 pandemic. Having multiple sources of income makes you feel financially secured. This will give you options and freedom, not only for yourself but also your children.” Mayumi says; “In Australia we have Fair Work, so I was able to use flexible working arrangements. I could still work full-time, send / pick up my daughter at childcare, cook for the family, let my daughter go to bed, and study Human Resource until midnight. Focus on your career. Then, anything happens, you can still survive.” I respect all working-mums like them. I, myself, was raised by a single-mum after my father had a stroke. She decided to establish her own company to run home-care business rather than working part-time to earn relatively lower wage, I had never seen my mother sleep until she passed away. If you face difficulties, try not to solve all problems by yourself. Seek support from your own family, friends, company, governments and local communities. Stay focused on the wellbeing of not only your children, but also your dream. Your dream makes you an even stronger mum.
