Podcast Overview

This podcast will embolden anyone interested in education. We undertake divergent topics to enlighten us on what it means to be a citizen, to be educated, and to educate. We discuss innovations and brainstorm. As a high-school Social Studies teacher of over twenty years, I believe in the power of conversation while understanding much of what teachers do is in isolation: lesson planning, grading, classroom management, and teaching. There's also the enormity of growing informed and empowered citizens by our instruction. In 2012, I earned a D.Litt. from Drew University where I reinvented my teaching by unearthing my assumptions. In 2019, Digital Promise selected me as an HP Teaching Fellow, recognizing me as an innovator in the classroom. Our conversations won't go into criticizing administrators, colleagues, parents, or students. Reach out to me at: @GlenLColeman Email: info@teacherbreathe.com

Laurie Wurm: Faith as Comfort During COVID-19.

Laurie Wurm is the rector of Grace Church Van Vorst in Jersey City, an oasis of diversity. The homeless people pray next to millionaires; people from all over the world congregate to feel community. An atheist who played in their church band, I was moved by Laurie's sermons. I reached out to Laurie to help make sense of our disruption. She has a gift for shining light in dark places.

https://www.gracecommunityjc.org/mission

Tony Coretto is a spark plug with a conscience, an autodidact with a sense of humor, and friend with a gift to inspire others when they are down.
