Better Late Than Never - Ep 10

Did you miss us? We recorded this show back in September, clearly Max has been slacking on editing. Tom catches us up on the move; he actually bought a boat, mower and truck and is fitting in with the community like a glove. He’s got a new job as a chef at a private club and he has become somewhat of a mentor to his co workers. Tom gets into the major differences between the south and California, most notably the fact that the south produces things people actually need which leads into Max and Tom talking about a demolition derby they visited where there wasn’t a mask in sight. They mention the drought in Santa Barbara and the staggering amount of water in the Carolinas. Tom talks about a Nascar race he saw at Darlington Raceway. They then get into covid for a while, because what else is there to talk about, and eventually politics. Lastly Max mentions the trip he took from North Carolina to New Hampshire. This is That Guy And The Kid - Ep 10.

The Bro - Ep 09
This week we have Tom’s fraternal twin brother John on and we talk everything from the brothers' old days back in high school to surfing to music. Oh yea, and we have a new president. We talk his inauguration and how it was probably a good thing that Trump wasn’t there. We then go on a long environmental tangent about fracking and our dependence on natural gas. We give our obligatory COVID update and speculate about what mask mandates Biden might enforce in the future. We then talk the Garnett childhood some more. Tom and John tell a story about selling homemade skateboards at school which leads into a conversation about the kinds of music they were into in the late 70s to mid 80s, including some concert stories. We then talk about stick shift cars and how Max still doesn’t know how to drive stick. Finally, John gives his two cents about Tom moving away. This is That Guy and The Kid Ep 09. The Road to a Million Miles - Ep 08

Tom and Max open the show talking about how the recent heat wave is like Santa Barbara taunting him now that he’s leaving. We then talk about the struggling businesses during this pandemic and how China is putting people in camps who have covid. Tom is a couple weeks out from heading East and he gives us an update on how that's going. We then give some more updates about the Capitol raid that happened the week prior which leads into a discussion about the petition to remove Trump from Home Alone 2. This leads into a conversation about streaming content in general and specifically the Netflix show, Cobra Kai. We talk an article about how Cobra Kai isn’t woke enough for the new age. This moves back into a discussion about China and whether America is on the verge of a war with them. Then we talk about cold weather vs hot weather and how people in hotter climates seem to have it easier. Tom talks about the buyer of his home who happens to be the son of a pretty legendary bartender in town. He then talks about what used to be Santa Barbara’s most popular bar Joe’s and how insanely packed it always was. We then banter about the driving do’s and don’t’s for a while. Everything from when to not pass people to what to do when someone is tailgating you. Tom then talks about the single cab F 150 we plans to get in North Carolina as well as some other plans for when he heads over there. Lastly we tease next week’s episode and a special guest we have planned. This is That Guy and the Kid - Ep 08. Go follow us on instagram: @ThatGuyAndTheKid
