In Episode 55, we’re joined by Lauren Chandler, wife of Matt Chandler, lead pastor at The Village Church. Lauren and Matt have been serving at their church for 23 years and are parents to three kids.
Lauren also recently opened Storied Provisions, a coffee shop born out of a journey that involved plenty of waiting, trusting, and following where God was leading.
As we continue our month of talking about seasons of waiting, Lauren shares the story behind Storied Provisions—how the idea came about, how it became a reality, and what God was teaching her along the way.
Together, we talk about the seasons in our own lives where we’ve had to wait on the Lord and what can happen when we slow down enough to actually listen for His voice. Sometimes in the waiting, things come to light that we may have missed if we were too busy trying to rush ahead.
The waiting season may not always produce the outcome we expected or hoped for, but it always has the potential to produce fruit. God is working even when we can’t see what He’s doing, and sometimes the fruit of our waiting looks completely different than we imagined.
What if the waiting isn’t wasted time? What if God is using it to grow something in us that we wouldn’t have seen any other way?

In this episode, we talk about choosing to glorify God in our work and in whatever He has called us to do—not just in the big, obvious moments, but in the everyday things too. Our work can be an act of worship when we choose to honor Him with what He’s given us.
But what happens when you feel stuck? When you’re unsure of what’s next, feeling weak, or struggling to hear from God? Sometimes the answer isn’t to push harder, but to stop, communicate with Him, and invite Him into the situation.
We also talk about the importance of having people in our lives who will fight for us and pray for us when we don’t have the strength to do it ourselves. We weren’t created to walk out our calling alone.
