<p>In this week's episode of Reclaiming Narratives, co-hosts Bukola (B), Winnie, and Hannah, led by Nike, delve into the often-overlooked but vital topic of self-advocacy. With sincerity and warmth, they share the struggles and victories of speaking up for oneself—particularly as Black women navigating the complexities of the professional world.</p><p>The conversation opens with a personal story from Nike about a shocking experience with emergency services. Despite being in a vulnerable situation, she found herself having to push persistently to receive the help she needed. This personal anecdote sets the stage for a broader discussion on the importance of self-advocacy, not just in healthcare, but in every facet of life—from the workplace to personal relationships.
