Podcast Overview

And if GenX is still going, Rock and Roll ain’t dead yet either. But now the kids are grown and we are in midlife with a very different look then our parents or grandparents at this age. I do not relate to the “Golden Girl” image I imagined when I got into my 50’s. I still feel like there is more chapters to write but I just need some motivation so let’s talk! Faith, Family, Fitness, Success, Failure, and Future. We now matter…we now are being studied and valued beyond being retired grandparents (which I’d be totally good with too). I like to think of myself now as a Queenager. And I still got so much to learn. I can tell you what I know and I hope you can help me know more! I’ve had lots of success and I’ve had lots of failure. More failure then success mind you. I’m almost done raising kids…4 birth babies 2 step children and several more I claim. I’ve been married, divorced, married again then widowed, competed in high level sports, ran successful ministries, been boss lady in the workforce, and then completely fell like a rock. What happened? I don’t know exactly but many of my middle aged friends can relate I know. Let’s get our groove back and keep rocking! We still have a purpose to fulfill too because God Ain’t Dead Either!

Your host Michelle “Rock Star” Steele

GenX Golden Girls

On this episode I have GenX TikTok and IG sensation, Tina Zarcone who like me just discovered other GenX friends who are just loving life in out 40's and 50's and connecting with each other remembering how growing up was and how it is different now. Tina points out that our creativity has not yet been ruined by the constant "no right brain" thinking our world is at today. We had to use our imagination when we were kids. We were not afraid of building real relationships in person. No AI, No Cell Phones, No Social Media. Just each other.

GenX is the LAST generation to truly be part of an ANALOG life on into a DIGITAL life that is full of new creative outlets for us 80's kids who did not have Facebook or iPhone to document our life like we do now. And now it is more about telling our kids and future peeps what life use to be like rather than just documenting what we are doing nowadays. We can say though, we are not all just rocking in a chair knitting. We are still very empowered and doing great things in our 50's!

We talk about the REAL reasons behind why we are loud and proud now on social media platforms like TikTok. It is not for the attention but rather the creative outlet and that we are NOT DEAD YET and we have something to say too! Plus dang....we can make our TikTok shop cart a little cheaper lol! We want to speak wisdom to the younger generation. We want to be an inspiration also to our fellow GenX peers to not have FEAR anymore. We are a new generation of Golden Girls and we took it up a notch:)

Stuck In The 80's

We all know someone and maybe it is YOU...stuck in the past and not moving with the changes of life. Bad thing is we don't become the person we were meant to be when we quit learning and changing. We need to be focused on the now and the future. Quit letting the past bog you down. Quit letting those who you are around bog you down. We got epic stuff to do! So whether you are stuck, depressed, or just not feeling your purpose listen in on my experiences and what has helped me!
