Yes, Even the "Good Ones"
Why feminism keeps getting sidelined — even by our male allies on the Left. In this episode of "The Abortionfluencer Podcast," host Colleen Luckett explores a frustrating truth many feminists know deep in their bones: Even well-meaning, left-leaning men often diminish feminist analysis — especially when it comes to reproductive justice, bodily autonomy rights, and power. Using a childhood soccer memory as a metaphor (pass the damn ball, my dudes!), this episode connects personal experience to political reality — from social media algorithms and bro-dominated leftist spaces to centuries-old systems of misogyny (and misogynoir) baked into U.S. "democracy" itself. This one’s part vent, part history lesson, part love letter — and part warning shot.Top Topics Covered Fighting your own "teammates" for legitimacy Why “good” men still center themselves in Leftist media and movements How social media algorithms reward ego and bank accounts, not justice — and who really benefits? A feminist critique of online Left spaces (yes, even popular ones) Structural misogyny in U.S. history — suffrage, women of color hit the hardest, the ERA, and political leaders using reproductive rights as leverage Why BOTH major political parties benefit from keeping women’s equality unresolved The Epstein files, survivor testimony, and why women are never believed “enough” “Even the Good Ones” — personal story tie in: Allyship, marriage, and how ALL of us must unlearn the patriarchy A call to male allies: Listen, credit feminist voices, and then step back. The Little Boulder Abortion Clinic that Could (ft. RISE Collective)
When the Boulder Abortion Clinic suddenly closed earlier this year, its staff faced the deepest heartbreak (and let's face it: the rest of us were right there with them!). But within a mere 5 1/2 months, they built something new from the ashes: RISE Collective, a patient-centered abortion clinic carrying forward Dr. Warren Hern’s legacy of compassionate abortion care later in pregnancy in Colorado. In this episode, Carlos and Isabel, patient-care coordinators at RISE, share how the former Boulder Abortion Clinic staff turned loss into action, what it’s like rebuilding a clinic from the ground up, and how they’re pushing back against anti-abortion misinformation. Tune in for a story of resilience, teamwork, and the refusal to let compassion be legislated out of existence!Rise Collectiveriseboulder.org@RISEboulder on Instagram & TikTokDonate!Rise Collective GoFundMEgofundme.com/f/rise-collective Subscribe on Substack:♀️👉 “The Abortionfluencer Files”theabortionfluencer.substack.comFeminist journalism, seeking justice for those harmed and maligned by the Forced Birth Industrial Complex in the United States.Find me on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube:♀️👉 @TheAbortionfluencerLike what you heard? Old Politicians, Old Laws, and the Same Old Attacks on Bodily Freedom w/ Sophia Kilmer
Sophia Kilmer and I decided to collaborate on how the same right-wing forces are coming for both trans and abortion rights, swap stories from the front lines of bodily autonomy, and even get a little spicy about why it might be time for some of our elderly politicians to finally pass the torch.
