What happened: Weeks 1-4 onwards

Hello! In this episode we talk about the difficulties for us as parents when our girls moved home and how we combatted that. Essentially, it was sticking to what we knew would work in the long run for them and for us. Thankfully that paid off, even if we have maintained and honed our routine since our girls moved home. Listening back, we hear that we seem a bit detached from the process, but that was because at the time, we were SO tired, it was pretty difficult to be anything but detached.

When We Met

We're talking about what happened when we first met. The difficulties of suddenly being a family with - in hindsight - very little preparation. Darcey and Ellie also talk heartbreakingly about what they were feeling when they met us and how little trust they had for the adults around them, which might help new adopters understand the behaviours their children are presenting.

Our third podcast will go a bit more in-depth into how we adjusted as a family at home. Don't forget to subscribe xxx

Why Adoption?

This is our first ever podcast! We all talk about how we became a family in this episode als also go into why we (the parents) wanted to have children this way. We (the children) talk a little bit about our old lives, what we think about adoption and how weird it is (initially) having random people suddenly become your parents.
