Ep 3: How do we trust intelligent machines? Interview - Annie Veillet, PwC

We all want AI to be trustworthy, safe, and responsible - especially as it comes out of the ivory tower and into our everyday lives. The problem with this is that few people know how to do this very thing well. Experience shows us that the costs of getting this wrong will be large, indeed. However, we're fortunate to have some of the best people in the world thinking about this problem on a daily basis. And also, we're fortunate to have one of those very people on the show with us today. Airl's Dr. Ampofo interviews Annie Veillet of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Annie is a Partner in PwC's Analytics Practice, leading Canada's AI offerings. She has experience in the planning, design, and delivery of complex AI, analytics, data management, and intelligent automation solutions. She co-led the development of PwC’s Global Responsible AI Toolkit, which recently won four awards (including the Outstanding Achievements - overall category winner) at the CogX 2020 Summit. Annie was recognized as '100+ Brilliant Women in AI Ethics' in 2020 and by Re-Work as one of the Top 30 Influential Women Advancing AI in Montreal in 2019. She also actively mentors Women in AI through programs like AI4Good.

Ep 2: Interview - Zecca Lehn on AI, SDGs, and investing

AI Safety takes all of us.

It takes Engineers. It takes CEOs. It takes Data Scientists. It takes Community organizers.
It takes regulators, bankers, ecological watchdogs, concerned parents, labor groups, - even the Pope has weighed in on AI.

But perhaps more than most groups, it takes investors. It takes men and women who understand that the role of an investor is funneling capital towards a future worth inventing. People who appreciate that, as the frontline deployers of access and cash, they hold a uniquely privileged position of deciding which direction the market heads and - in turn - which direction society goes.

Zecca Lehn, the Founder and General Partner of Responsibly Ventures, is one of those people.

Dr. Ampofo had the privilege to sit down with him and learn more about his journey towards inventing the future, and how he understands the opportunity around AI Safety.
