That is to keep your body rotating so that medication can as evenly as possible disperse amongst your body so that you can get that relief that you were hoping to get by getting the epidural. Number three, every hospital has their own cocktail of medications that they use in the epidural. And sometimes within the same hospital, different anesthesiologists will have what they are trained in and comfortable and most commonly used.
