[…] Yeah, again, this sort of links back to the subjective nature of what is or isn't affordable for a long time in Scotland. It was a sort of Vibes-based definition that housing costs or rents and ground charges or rents and service charges would be at a reasonable level compared to local income and earnings. More recently, Scottish Government had commissioned some research specifically on how rent settings should happen for affordable homes and they came up with a triple criteria. There had to be the housing costs shouldn't exceed 30% of household income, there had to be enough residual income to place the household above the UK relative poverty line, and there had to be enough residual income to be placed above the JRE minimum income standard.
