About The Great Detectives Present Broadway's My Beat
Detective Danny Clover solves crimes along the Great White, an area he describes as "the gaudiest, the most violent…the lonesomest mile in the world." The series initially began in New York with Anthony Ross but shifted to Hollywood where, under the eye of New York-born director Elliott Lewis and writers David Friedkin and Morton Fine, the series became a poetic look at crime in the Big Apple, and how it impacted the mosaic of people who lived there. Larry Thor took over as Danny Clover, delivering a world-weary performance. He was supported by Charles Calvert, who brought light moments as the Sergeant Gino Tartaglia.
Also known as Broadway is My Beat.
Host Adam Graham will be your guide through every circulating episode of this classic Old Time Radio detective series. Broadway's My Beat is presented as part of the Great Detectives of Old Time Radio (https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-great-detectives-of-old-time-radio--4607052) which features a different old time radio detective show every day.
Today's Mystery: A demolition crew uncovers a skeleton beneath the cellar floor of a former nightclub, along with a satchel containing more than $1,000. The dead man appears to have been murdered five years earlier, but the discovery raises troubling questions about a missing partner, a vanished dancer, and a crime that may not be finished claiming victims. Detective Danny Clover follows a trail of old grudges and buried secrets—but someone is determined to keep the past hidden.
