Daily Devotional: The Most Questioned Man in History - Why Do We Believe Caesar But Doubt Jesus?

Why do we accept the existence of Julius Caesar, Alexander the Great, and Napoleon without hesitation, yet often approach the Bible with a completely different level of skepticism?

In today's episode, we explore one of the most overlooked aspects of Christianity: the historical reliability of the New Testament.

Luke, a physician and careful investigator, opens his Gospel by explaining that he carefully examined eyewitness testimony and compiled an orderly account of the events surrounding Jesus' life. His approach sounds less like mythology and more like a first-century investigative journalist documenting real historical events.

We also examine the manuscript evidence behind the New Testament and compare it to other ancient historical works. Scholars have identified more than 5,800 Greek New Testament manuscripts and over 24,000 total manuscripts and fragments when ancient translations are included. By comparison, Julius Caesar's Gallic Wars survives in roughly 10 manuscripts, while historians rely on much later sources to reconstruct the life of Alexander the Great.

This episode isn't simply about manuscript counts or ancient documents. It's about a deeper question:

Why do we trust some history while doubting other history?

Could it be that the real challenge isn't the evidence itself, but the implications of what that evidence points to?

If Jesus truly lived, died, and rose again, then the conversation moves beyond history and becomes personal.

Join us as we examine the evidence, discuss the double standard often applied to Scripture, and consider why an honest search for truth has nothing to fear.

Scriptures Referenced:

• Luke 1:1-3

• John 17:17

Today's Challenge:

Pick one claim about Christianity, Jesus, or the Bible that you've always wondered about. Spend 15 minutes researching it from a trustworthy source instead of relying on social media, headlines, or popular opinion. Seek truth. Ask questions. Follow the evidence wherever it leads.

Because God is never threatened by an honest search for the truth.

Thanks for listening today.

And remember—stand firm and walk humbly with the Lord.

That's the Hall way.

#ChristianPodcast #DailyDevotional #BibleHistory #ChristianApologetics #Faith

#Luke1 #HistoricalJesus #TruthMatters #BibleStudy #TheHallHotline

Daily Devotional: God’s Plan Is a LEGO Set — Stop Trying to Solve Step 57 First

What if God showed you exactly what your life looked like ten years from now?

Would you want to know?

In today's devotional, Jon shares a conversation from his men's group inspired by one of his daughter's favorite hobbies: LEGO building. After watching his daughter spend months assembling the massive LEGO Titanic set—nearly six feet long and made up of thousands of pieces—he was reminded of an important truth about God's plan for our lives.

Most of us want to see the finished product. We want answers about our future, our relationships, our careers, our health, and our prayers. We want the picture on the box.

But God rarely reveals the entire blueprint.

Instead, He gives us the next step.

Through Proverbs 16:9, Isaiah 55:8-9, and Psalm 119:105, we explore why faith is often less about knowing the destination and more about trusting the Architect. Just like a LEGO set, many of the pieces God is placing in our lives today may not make sense in the moment. Yet every step serves a purpose in building something greater than we can currently see.

If you've been feeling anxious, frustrated, or impatient about the future, this episode is a reminder to stop trying to solve Step 57 and focus on the step God has placed directly in front of you.

Scriptures Referenced:

• Proverbs 16:9

• Isaiah 55:8-9

• Psalm 119:105

Today's Challenge:

Identify one area of your life where you're feeling anxious, frustrated, or impatient about the future. Ask God, "What is my next step today?" Then do that one thing with excellence, trust the Architect, and leave the rest of the box in His hands.

Thanks for listening today.

And remember—stand firm and walk humbly with the Lord.

That's the Hall way.

#ChristianPodcast #DailyDevotional #Faith #TrustGod #GodsPlan

#Proverbs169 #Isaiah55 #Psalm119105 #ChristianLiving #TheHallHotline
