At the time, the idea of making a sort of an amateur pastiche of a Hollywood melodrama was so new and so radical that it basically created John Waters. But that's also not to say that George Kuchar doesn't have value now that everyone can do it because his films are so specific of his personality that no one does it like he does. Oh, absolutely. And as much as I like George Kuchar's 60s films, and I do really like those films. For me, I love him as he goes on and he goes to video and he makes these diary films. […]
