[…] Aaron Schrank reports. In June, the Trump administration suspended the L.A. Homeless Services Authority, known as LASA, from federal funding, alleging financial mismanagement. LASA sued, and a federal judge paused that suspension. Federal lawyers appealed. The Ninth Circuit is now deciding if that pause should stand to allow Lhasa to apply for money the region relies on. Lhasa says it's the only one ready to do so by next week's deadline. If the court sides with the feds, the Trump administration wants providers to apply directly to Washington instead.
