[…] Just north of the famous city of New Orleans lies an area that was once home to a different kind of life a few hundred years ago, and not an easy life by any stretch of the imagination. The area was predominantly wild but struggling to become established towns and homesteads. In the 1700s, German immigrants in search of a new life populated the area as farmers and hopeful entrepreneurs.
