Martyn shares how he made a name for himself as a specialist sealant applicator (aka “mastik man”), turning a lesser-known trade into a thriving business. From starting out after redundancy to building his customer base through Facebook groups and word of mouth, Martyn gives an honest look at what it takes to go solo – with plenty of insights into the technical side of sealing and the power of showing your work on social media.Tom takes us through his journey into air conditioning – a trade he got into by chance, but stuck with through hard work and determination. He talks about learning on the job, navigating London’s demanding sites, and eventually branching out on his own. The school recommended that he think about carpentry, down to the fact that he enjoyed woodwork. After initially struggling to find an apprenticeship, he luckily came across a company that agreed to take him on and train him. After working for a few different companies, Liam knew that he wanted to go it alone and start his own business.Once he went self employed , Liam never looked back. He was able to work around his own timetable and charge his own rates.A.I. plays a vital role in Liam's business.
