Twin Peaks: The Return, Part 4: "Brings Back Some Memories"
Dougie Dale keeps winning jackpots!!!! He's mister jackpots!!! A guy called Bill Shaker who seems to know Dougie tells him where he lives, and Dougie seems about to leave, when he is threateningly given his winnings and a limo ride home by the casino staff. He meets his wife, Janey-E, played by the illustrious Naomi Watts, who is so mad at him for disappearing for 3 days and also understandably freaks out that he has a mountain of cash. The next morning he gets a message from MIKE, oh my god this is gonna do it he's gonna get his memory back!!! – oh wait nevermind he has to pee. He has breakfast and coffee – oh my god, coffee! This is gonna do it, it's gonna bring him back!! Oh, nevermind, he just does a funny face. Oh well!Meanwhile: Gordon Cole meets with TS Legend Denise Duchovny, who is now the chief of staff of the entire federal bureau of investigation. She questions him about his intentions in working with the beautiful young Tammy, saying she “knows his profile”, but Cole deflects using the Trans Rights Gambit. Then he goes to talk to Mr C in prison, who is what that phone call last episode was about, and who tries really hard to seem normal and fails. Afterwards, Cole and Albert are skeezy about Tammy and Albert tells Cole that years ago Philip Jeffries asked the identity of “their guy in Columbia” on behalf of Me C, and then that guy was killed. In Twin Peaks, we meet a bunch of people: the new Sheriff Truman! And Bobby who's a nice boy cop now and he cries remembering Laura Palmer and it's genuinely really affecting! And Chad, who is NOT a nice cop! And Lucy and Andy's son, Michael Cera doing an insane Marlon Brando impression! Also, we learn that maybe Mr C killed Garland Briggs, and that Lucy, god bless her, just cannot understand cell phones. ⁂Support the show on Patreon for early access and exclusive movie discussion episodesFollow the show on BlueskyQuestions? Twin Peaks: The Return, Part 3: "Call for Help"
Folks, these recaps aren’t getting any easier. So Coop was falling in space, right? He lands on a brutalist structure where a lady with no eyes who moves like your graphics card is dying tells him to be really quiet because something really scary is banging on the door. They go upstairs where they’re now on the roof of a box floating in space. Then something crazy happens which I have no idea how anyone could have seen coming: Coop sees MAJOR GARLAND BRIGGS as a FLOATING HEAD IN SPACE???? Whaaaaat?!?! He goes back inside where a lady who looks a lot like Ronnette Pulaski tells him to go through a giant electrical outlet. He does, and it seems like his soul is supposed to go into Mr C, who’s da king of da highway, but instead it gets redirected into….Dougie, A third copy of Dale/Mr C, who MIKE tells us was “manufactured” for this purpose. As Dougie, Dale is completely stunned and seems to remember nothing. He almost gets assassinated but escapes by dropping his keys. Despite several “will this get his memory back????” fakeouts, he spends the rest of the episode wandering a place as twisted and labyrinthine as the black lodge itself: a casino. Meanwhile: Gordon Cole, Albert, and our new, cuntiest FBI Agent Tammy Preston learn Something about Coop! And in Twin Peaks, Hawk, Andy, and Lucy debate whether the missing thing the log lady told them about is a chocolate bunny, and Jacoby spray-paints his shovels gold. ⁂ Follow the show on Bluesky Questions? Twin Peaks: The Return, Part 2: "The Stars Turn and a Time Presents Itself"
Dale is back for real! It's weird. Anyway! Bill Hastings says he wasn't at Ruth Davenport's apartment but he did have a dream that he was, which is weird. His wife is really happy he's in jail, but then she gets killed by Mr C. Speaking of Mr C, he gets busy this episode: he tells us he doesn't Need, he Wants, and then he starts killing his underlings, who were trying to take him out on behalf of... Philip Jeffries? He then calls Philip Jeffries using his FBI suitcase phone, but it is actually someone else? In all this we learn these things about him:He's supposed to be pulled back into the black lodge, but has a planHe's looking for something represented by an ace of spades with a weird ant head shape drawn on it?He met with Garland Briggs recentlyMeanwhile: a guy named Duncan Todd, played by the guy who had the Mulholland Drive Winkies dream, gives someone a job and is scared of his evil boss. Hawk gets a call from the Log Lady as he's scoping out Glastonbury Grove, where red curtains appear. Sarah Palmer has a new HDTV, which isn't ominous at all! Shelley's worried her daughter is dating the wrong guy. And James? James is still cool. James was always cool. ⁂ Follow the show on Bluesky Questions? Comments?
