Tom Cruise is ACTING in Digger...But will you be watching?
Tom Cruise goes BIG and stretches his acting chops in Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s DIGGER. The plot has such a twist and a major reveal that we basically have a lot to say without saying much. Cupcake and WillDsBeast are joined by fellow YouTube brother in arms John Horban of the “And Now for Something a Little Bit Different…” show and Josh Hurtado, pro film critic from Screen Anarchy to decide is this new VistaVision satire is a watch or a skip?
We open on Iñárritu’s heavily awarded career from his first films (Amores Perros, 21 Grams, Babel, Biutiful) to the films that brought him Oscars and worldwide acclaim (Birdman, The Revenant) that reveal Iñárritu to be a serious filmic artist. Then we tell you why Tom Cruise’s performance has us talking about his range, his action career, and if this performance is Oscar-worthy. If you love dark comedy, social satire, or filmmakers that take HUGE creative swings and chances like the hosts and the guests, Digger might be the a theatre must-see even with its twists and flaws.
GIVE US 30 MINUTES AND WE’LL GIVE YOU EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT NEW MOVIES!

188B: SPOILER'D A24's Primetime
Primetime SPOILER'D review: the true story behind the raid, that finale, and should Chris Hansen sue?
*Spoilers ahead...even in the description below
Cupcake and WillDaBeast are joined by Tyler from Raiders of the Podcast to break down the movie - spoilers and all, plot twists, and the ending - Primetime, Lance Oppenheim's heightened “docufantasia” take on the making of Dateline NBC's To Catch a Predator, based on Luke Dittrich's Esquire article “Tonight on Dateline, This Man Will Die.”
We get into the real events behind the Texas finale, Skyler Gisondo's decoy Dan and that SAG card ending, Merritt Wever's ratings-hungry producer, Bokeem Woodbine's Texas cop, DAT FULL FRONTAL CAMEO, and Robert Pattinson's wild turn as Chris Hansen. Then we settle the big debate: after reports that Hansen was considering suing, would he have a case?
If you loved the media satire of Nightcrawler, the behind-the-scenes TV cynicism of Unreal, or the Paramount+ documentary Predators, this dark comedy true-crime hybrid from A24 is right in that lane.
DEEP DIVE THE DARK WITH OUR SPOILER'D EP!

Episode 188: a24's PRIMETIME spoiler-free
A24's Primetime is NOT the Chris Hansen biopic you expect!
Robert Pattinson, Merritt Wever, and Skyler Gisondo star in A24's Primetime, directed by documentarian Lance Oppenheim (Some Kind of Heaven, Sperm World) with Nathan Fielder and Ari Aster in the mix. If you're expecting a straightforward Chris Hansen biopic about the To Catch a Predator era, buckle up: this is "docufantasia," a heightened, satirical blend of documentary and fantasy, shot in a boxy 4:3 frame that looks like an old CRT reality show. BUT no one told Cupcake and our guest about this!
We open on a discussion of the "To Catch a Predator", the advent of "Gotcha" reality news, and just WTF "docufantasia" is. Then, Cupcake and WildDaBeast, joined by returning guest Tyler from Raiders of the Podcast, give their spoiler free verdicts on what is likely to be one of the most controversial films (but NOT for what you think) with INCREDIBLE performances from Robert Pattinson (who is having quite the Anne Hathaway-esque year) and Skyler Gisondo.
Pssst....one of us thinks this is "one of 2026's best films of the year".
