Podcast Overview

A home by, for, and about Black transgender men, exclusively. We ask the question; behind the masks of masculinity and manhood, what do we, the invisible men, Black transgender men, see when we look in the mirror? Every person interviewed, every story, every topic is, unapologetically, from our perspective as Black trans men. From news and drama to finding purpose beyond “living your truth”, this podcast explores the full humanity and lives of Black trans men in our own words. Not as the guest or “special episode” but as the center of the entire conversation.

A Taste of Home For Black Trans Men

The ONLY podcast By, For & About Black Trans men premieres April 6th. Unbothered, Unmasked and Unafraid. We aren’t making space, we are making a home. So, until the premiere, we are giving you a sample, a taste if you will, of all that's to come and why this podcast, this home is so incredibly important. This podcast is the FIRST of its kind. Why? Because nothing will change unless we stand up, say we are here and demand to be heard. To build community, we need a space for ourselves. To tell our stories right, we need to do that ourselves.

This podcast was named after the host’s (Lynx @blerdsenpai) favorite poem “We Wear The Mask” by #paullaurencedunbar This mask/masc we wear is not new. It is not inherently good or bad. What the mask/masc means depends on who you are underneath it all. "Why should the world be over-wise, I’m counting all our tears and sighs? Nay let them only see us, while We wear the mask.” - Paul Laurence Dunbar

Come get a taste of home and don't forget to come back for the full meal starting Monday April 6th! The topic of the first episode is “The REAL HRTs: Transitioning to (H)ealthy (R)elationship (T)o (s)elf” this is not your typical “Transitioning A-Z” bc there is no 👊🏽 one 👊🏽 way 👊🏽 to 👊🏽 transition. It’s so much more than the physical. With our first featured guest, Sebastian J. Flowers (@belizeanvegan)! He is an author, model, actor and so much more!

Tune in, Subscribe! and Follow Us @wewrethemasc on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to hear more!

Are you a Black Trans Man? Do you have a story or some words of wisdom you want to share?
