Episode 2.6: The Fibonacci Sequence
<p>In this month’s “What’s a Woolpert?” podcast, Interior Design Program Director Kristi Barker examines the Fibonacci sequence and its relationship to everything from architecture to sunflowers to human DNA. The Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers in which each number is the sum of the two that precede it.</p> <p> </p> <p>“It is often called ‘God’s fingerprint,’ because there is something particular about this sequence of numbers,” said Kristi, noting that this growth pattern has innate strength. "There is just something inherently pleasing architecturally about that balance.”</p>

<p>Ethan Schreuder, Woolpert’s UAS team lead for US-based drone operations, discusses some of the latest developments in the uncrewed aircraft system (UAS) industry—including what the FAA’s recently passed Reauthorization Act of 2024 means for drone operations across the country. </p> <p> </p> <p>Due to the fast-paced nature of the industry, this podcast was recorded in a few installments over the last few weeks. <p>Our "What’s a Woolpert?" podcast for July provides a platform for a handful of our summer interns across industries to share what they expected of their intern experience, how it really went, and how their experience with Woolpert has helped shaped their career paths. </p> <p> </p> <p>“Early on, I was given some advice from one of the leadership here and basically they told me if you’re working for somebody and you couldn’t see yourself being that boss, then you’re not at the right place,” Architectural Design Intern Christopher Garcia said. “And something I can happily say is that I can see myself being that type of boss. The people here and the leadership here are not only exceptional, but they really care about the culture and do their best to make sure it grows.”</p>
