[…] And in this Treaty of 1713, it stated that Spain cedes Gibraltar in perpetuity to Britain. And this is the treaty which is still in place today. And this is the legal basis of the British, some people would say occupation if you're Spanish, other people say of the British overseas territory, depending on your point of view, of Gibraltar. So it goes back all the way to 1713, perhaps even 1704 when they first seized it. And you still have these disputes between Spain and Gibraltar. They're going on all the way up to today. Just very recently, there was a very interesting treaty signed between Spain and Gibraltar, which opens up Gibraltar again for the EU market. […]
