美国总统特朗普重返白宫百日之际，据彭博社分析，意外地送给习近平一个凝聚国内民意的大礼，那就是树立一个明确的外部敌人：美国。一位经营玩具的贸易商对彭博社表示：「几个月前大家普遍非常低落，那时许多人对生活、对习近平以及对未来都充满焦虑。但现在情况完全不一样了，虽然大家依旧很担心工作和收入也不敢随便花钱，但现在有了明确的敌人：美国，所有不好的事都可以归咎于他们。」
