<p>Greatest Short Stories is a collection of fiction by Indian author Mulk Raj Anand, first published in 1999 by Jaico Publishing House, featuring a wide range of his short stories that explore themes of Indian life, society, and the human condition, often with a focus on the marginalized. <p><i>Essays in Idleness</i> (<i>Tsurezuregusa</i>), written by the 14th-century Japanese monk Yoshida Kenkō around 1330–1332, is a masterpiece of medieval literature and a staple of the <i>zuihitsu</i> ("follow-the-brush") genre.
