[…] We will build more clean electricity generation this year than ever before in this country. Over 90% of all of the power generation that we will add this year will be clean energy, not fossil fuels. So, there is an enormous amount of momentum, and that is due in large part to the fact that clean energy has become so inexpensive compared to the alternatives. One thing I saw that just happened in India, actually, was they did an auction. for solar plus batteries, and they expected that that would cost a lot more than just building a coal power plant. But that was not the case. The auction results came in just last week, and it is 20% cheaper to build this solar plus storage coal equivalent generation than to build a new coal plant in India. […]
