[…] These codes have valuation for total knee arthroplasty, total hip arthroplasty, and total shoulder arthroplasty as well as shoulder hemiarthroplasty. These reductions are really, as you said, unprecedented, and they've targeted some of the most successful and life-changing procedures in all of medicine. These procedures aren't elective. In a way, many people outside medicine sometimes use that word. They are often the difference between a patient being able to walk, live independently, avoid falls, continue working, or even care for a spouse or a family member. A 20% reduction in valuation is what's been proposed, and this really doesn't occur in isolation. […]
