Mitschnitt einer Podiumsdiskussion aus Anlass der Eröffnung des Forschungsinstituts für Migrations- und Fluchtforschung und -management (FORM) an der WU Wien. Auf dem Podium zu hören sind AMS-Chef Johannes Kopf, ÖBB-Finanzvorständin Sivia Angelo, Gertrude Schatzdorfer-Wölfel, bis vor kurzem Alleineigentümerin und geschäftsführende Gesellschafterin des Metallzulieferer-Betriebs Schatzdorfer in Zipf in Oberösterreich, und WIFO-Chef Gabriel Felbermayr, der als WU-Professor auch am FORM affiliiert ist. Die Diskussion dreht sich um Chancen der Migration für den Wirtschaftsstandort Österreich, vor allem angesichts des demografischen Wandels und einer schrumpfenden Erwerbsbevölkerung, besonders in den Bundesländern. Was dagegen zu tun wäre, wirtschaftlich wie auch politisch, diskutiert das Podium, teils launig, teils hitzig, jedenfalls immer kurzweilig.

Im Rahmen der Eröffnung des Forschungsinstituts für Migrations- und Fluchtforschung und -management (FORM) spricht Migrationsforscherin Naika Foroutan, Direktorin des Deutschen Instituts für Migrations. und Integrationsforschung (DeZIM) und Professorin an der Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, über Widersprüche der migrationspolitischen Steuerung in Zeiten des demografischen Wandels - und über die Rolle der Migrationsforschung in polarisierten Zeiten.

Wenn von “Integration” die Rede ist, ist damit meist Arbeitsmarktsintegration gemeint. Doch wie funktioniert diese für geflüchtete Männer und Frauen wirklich? Was unterscheidet (oder verbindet) die Jobsuche von niedrig qualifizierten Geflüchteten von jenen mit universitärem Abschluss? Und wie lässt sich Arbeit nicht nur finden, sondern auch halten? Das alles und noch mehr bespreche ich mit Almina Bešić, Assistenzprofessorin am Institut für Internationales Management an der Business School der Johannes-Kepler-Universität Linz.
