A Note on Back From Beyond

When we set out to make this series with Grand County Search and Rescue, we had no idea what the response was going to be like. And so far, it’s been overwhelmingly positive. Which means a lot, because we want to do another season. There are so many more things to talk about. We haven’t even mentioned the River … yet.

So right now we’re figuring out how to fund a second season. One thing that could really help in our funding quest is reviewing and rating the podcast. So if you like this, and want to hear more stories from Grand County Search and Rescue and have a second to leave a review, we would SO appreciate it. This has been a huge word of mouth effort, and we can’t thank you enough for helping it grow.

Our goal from the outset was to share real rescue stories that humanized subjects and first responders. Compelling stories that could talk about the cool recreation in Moab while also teaching us all a little something about preparedness in the outdoors. I hope we’re threading that needle.

Get in touch in the comments or email us at backfrombeyond.moab@gmail.com.

Thanks for being part of this. We hope to be back from beyond soon.

BASE Jumping Gemini Bridges

A BASE jumper is critically injured when they accidentally land on a steep talus slope. It’s a precarious perch, between the base of one cliff and the beginning of another, where one misplaced step could set off a dry avalanche. First responders must stabilize their patient while getting everyone, somehow, to safety.

Show Notes:

Find a list of 10 essentials for your adventure in the Moab area at discovermoab.com/podcast.

Grand County Search and Rescue Grand County Search and Rescue is one of the busiest SAR teams in Utah. Find out more here.
