Former WAC, MAC, and Sun Belt commissioner Karl Benson joins the program to give his take on what can be done to fix the college bowl system. Benson believes that the bowl season is actually a lot healthier than it is advertised by a lot of media members. Benson thinks that coaches and players still love playing in smaller bowl games. Benson believes that the group of 5 conferences belongs on the big stage in the CFP against the blue-blood schools. Benson believes that college football needs to look out better for their fanbase by making the CFP easier to attend for the true fans. The 5 at 5 and much more!

John Canzano is in talking about the current landscape of sports and the drama that is rampant. With the news of Sherone Moore being fired at Michigan, Canzano wonders if so many coach firings, player movement, and high prices are making sports less fun for the fans. Later, Canzano talks about the Oregon basketball program and what is going wrong with them this season as they head into a game against Gonzaga from the Moda Center. Canzano ponders what's best for the new Pac-12 when it comes to the CFP, and what the best pathway into the CFP is. Does the conference need to play the Power 4 schools, or should they stick to playing the group of 5 and making sure their record is pristine? Punch it audio, the 5 at 5, and much more!

BFT Show: Scott Rueck, Amy Perko

John Canzano is in talking about Notre Dame missing the playoffs, and if they have a valid argument in blaming the ACC conference for being a big reason why the Irish got snubbed from the playoff. Later, Canzano tells the history of James Madison University, and the rise of the school as they prepare to travel to Oregon for the opening round CFP game at Autzen Stadium. Oregon State women's basketball coach Scott Rueck joins the program to discuss the Civil War basketball series. Rueck discusses whether last season's success in making the NCAA tournament was his best coaching performance. Rueck discusses what is needed for a team to make a run in March and accomplish the goals that you have. Rueck talks about what some of the skills he looks for in recruits are when he is out recruiting. Rueck tells Canzano the reasons he's still at Oregon State and not running off to another job. Rueck tells Canzano all the reasons why the rivalry with Oregon isn't the same and why he feels like Oregon State shouldn't be playing Oregon right now in women's basketball. Amy Perko of the Knight Commission joins the program to discuss what she and her colleagues are doing to try and help college athletics going forward. Perko discusses how the Knight Commission is handling the divide between money and education when it comes to student athletes.
