From Internal Expert to Conference Speaker: How to Turn Workplace Credibility Into Thought Leadership on Bigger Stages

Speaking inside your company is a powerful proving ground. You’re leading meetings, presenting updates, sharing results, guiding decisions. You’ve built credibility. You’re trusted. But stepping onto a conference stage? That’s a different game. Inside your company, you’re known. At a conference, you’re chosen. That distinction changes how you position yourself, how you craft your message, and how you pursue opportunities. In this episode, I share what it really takes to move from internal visibility to external stages — and how to do it strategically, not accidentally. If you can lead a high-stakes meeting or present to your executives, you have the capacity to speak on conference stages. What you need now is positioning, clarity, and persistence. Conference speaking isn’t just about visibility. It opens doors to partnerships, clients, promotions, board roles, and greater influence in your field. It’s about taking your ideas beyond your company walls and contributing to a larger conversation. The stage is bigger than you think — and there’s room for your voice on it. If you’re ready to amplify your message and step into bigger speaking opportunities, visit speakingyourbrand.com to learn how we can support you. Be sure to follow the podcast on Apple Podcasts or Spotify so you don’t miss upcoming episodes packed with strategies and inspiration just for you. Is Your Speaking Topic Still Relevant? How to Align Your Message with What Event Organizers Actually Want

How do you know if your topic is actually relevant right now—or if it’s quietly being dismissed as outdated? This is a question I hear all the time from smart, experienced women who are ready to speak more… but hesitate right before they hit “submit” on that proposal. In this episode of the Confident Speaker Podcast, I share a powerful reframe: relevance isn’t about chasing trends. It’s about alignment. The moment you start scrolling headlines and seeing buzzwords everywhere—AI, disruption, automation, the future of work—it’s easy to second-guess yourself. I’ve seen clients wonder whether their core topic is “too basic” or not flashy enough. But here’s what we unpack in this episode: event organizers aren’t booking buzzwords. They’re booking solutions to urgent problems. When you understand that distinction, everything changes. If you’ve been wondering whether your message still matters, I want you to know: it absolutely can. Event organizers aren’t looking for the trendiest speaker. They’re looking for someone who deeply understands their audience and can deliver transformation. That can be you. From One Signature Talk to Multiple Speaking Topics: How to Repurpose Your Presentation for More Bookings and Impact

“I need more speaking topics.” If that thought has been running through your mind, I want to offer a powerful reframe: you probably don’t need more topics. You need one truly strong, well-structured presentation. In this episode of the Confident Speaker Podcast, I share one of the biggest mindset shifts I see with our clients. When your signature talk is intentionally designed—with a clear structure and a compelling throughline—you can turn that one presentation into multiple speaking topics without starting from scratch every time. The secret isn’t creating more content. It’s learning how to expand and contract what you already have. If your presentation feels like a string of random insights or slides packed with information, it’s much harder to repurpose. But when you design your talk as a narrative—with a clear beginning, middle, and end—you’re building a body of work. And that body of work can grow with you. This is how you scale your speaking without burning yourself out. Instead of constantly inventing new topics, you refine and leverage the intellectual property you already have. If you’d like support creating or refining your signature talk so it becomes a flexible, powerful foundation for your thought leadership, I invite you to visit speakingyourbrand.com to learn about working with us.
