<p>Mientras nos preparamos para la segunda mitad del año de El Sonido: Cancioneros, abrimos los archivos oficiales de KEXP para revisitar algunas de las sesiones Live on KEXP más memorables de artistas latinoamericanos, iberoamericanos y caribeños que han pasado por nuestros estudios.</p> <p>En este cuarto episodio viajamos hasta Chile de la mano de una de las raperas más importantes del mundo hispanohablante, Ana Tijoux. La compositora y cantante franco-chilena ocupa el puesto número cinco en el Top 50 de los mejores raperos y raperas en español, según la revista Rolling Stone. De ascendencia aymara, nació en Francia de padres chilenos exiliados durante la dictadura de Augusto Pinochet. The French-Chilean songwriter and performer is ranked No. 5 on Rolling Stone's Top 50 Greatest Spanish-Language Rappers. Of Aymara descent, Tijoux was born in France to Chilean parents who were exiled during Augusto Pinochet's dictatorship. <p>Mientras nos preparamos para la segunda mitad del año de El Sonido: Cancioneros, abrimos los archivos oficiales de KEXP para revisitar algunas de las sesiones Live on KEXP más memorables de artistas latinoamericanos, iberoamericanos y caribeños que han pasado por nuestros estudios.</p> <p>En este tercer episodio viajamos hasta Cuba de la mano de Jesús "Aguaje" Ramos y The Buena Vista Orchestra. Trombonista, compositor y director musical, Aguaje fue una figura fundamental en las históricas grabaciones de Estrellas de Areíto y posteriormente se convirtió en uno de los pilares del legendario Buena Vista Social Club. <p>Mientras nos preparamos para la segunda mitad del año de El Sonido: Cancioneros, abrimos los archivos oficiales de KEXP para revisitar algunas de las sesiones Live on KEXP más memorables de artistas latinoamericanos que han pasado por nuestros estudios.</p> <p>En este episodio viajamos a Ciudad de México para revivir la sesión de Mexican Institute of Sound, grabada en 2019 durante la primera edición de Live on KEXP CDMX, realizada en colaboración con el icónico festival NRMAL y Panorama Studios.</p> <p>Liderado por Camilo Lara, uno de los productores, compositores y multiinstrumentistas más influyentes de la música mexicana moderna, Mexican Institute of Sound ha construido un universo sonoro único que combina electrónica, cumbia, hip hop, música tradicional mexicana y ritmos globales.</p> <p>Camilo Lara y Eblis Álvarez, de Meridian Brothers, acaban de lanzar su álbum colaborativo Radio Tovar y estarán presentándose en Estados Unidos durante agosto de 2026.
