[…] The Employment Rights Act update. On Friday, the government updated its implementation timetable and pushed back the new duty to inform workers of their right to join a trade union. It was due on the 30th of October. It's been pushed back to January 2027. Now, this is the duty on employers to give every worker, worker not employee, a written statement saying they have the right to join a union. My view, the delay is probably welcome because nobody's seen the detail. The government hadn't published the details and hadn't published the compulsory wording that all employers are going to have to use. […]
