Something would be wrong with a husband who felt nothing for his bride. Marriage establishes an exclusive covenant relationship, and therefore there's this kind of jealousy that is entirely appropriate. It is protecting what rightfully belongs. In fact, Paul uses this same language and the same idea in 2 Corinthians 11 verse 2, where he tells the church, I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy.
